Uzun qulaq — “the long ear.” For centuries it named the way news crossed the
steppe: relayed, mouth to mouth, over impossible distance. The mark is the U of
the name drawn as a vessel — a cup that listens, cradling the signal it catches.

01 · The Mark
One idea, three routes
Each route encodes listening across distance, built on a single unit — the crimson
signal dot that already pulses as “live” inside the app.
The Monogram is the chosen primary:
it carries the name’s initial and reads as a vessel that holds the signal.
Primary
Route B — Monogram
The “U” as a listening cup cradling the signal. Carries the wordmark’s initial, reads as a vessel, and stays distinctive at any size.
Route A — Signal
Ripples radiating from the dot — broadcast and reception. Strong, but reads close to a generic feed glyph.
Route C — Aperture
Waves converging on a point — sound arriving at the ear. Elegant, but more abstract and quieter.
02 · Primary Lockups
The logo
Mark and wordmark, locked at a fixed ratio. Horizontal is the default; the stack is for
square and narrow placements. Never re-space or re-scale the two parts independently.

03 · Construction
Grid, clear space & minimum size
Geometry
The bowl is a true semicircle (r = 21) struck from one centre; the stems sit on its tangents. Stroke weight equals 1.5× the dot radius.
Clear space
Keep a margin of X on every side, where X = the diameter of the signal dot. Nothing intrudes inside it.
24 px
16 px
Minimum size
The mark holds to 16 px (favicon). Below that, or where the wordmark would set under ~90 px wide, use the mark alone.
04 · App Icons
Every platform
One mark, every container. The icon is the monogram on ink, optically centred, with the
crimson dot intact. Android’s adaptive layers keep the foreground inside the 66% safe zone so
it survives any system mask.

05 · Colour
Ink, paper & one signal
The system is monochrome by design — near-black ink on warm paper — with a single chromatic
accent. Crimson is the default; the accent is themeable, so the mark must read in any of the
five brand spots.

Do & don’t
Do
Uzun Qulaq
Uzun Qulaq
Keep the locked ratio · honour clear space · use approved colourways · let the dot stay the only colour.
Don’t
Never stretch · never recolour the bowl or swap the dot for a clashing hue · never rotate · never place on a busy or gradient ground.
